Nothing compares to approaching the white continent for the first time, there simply aren't words to describe it. A place completely untouched by the hand of man, where you can find yourself surrounded by Orca's one day and Gentoo penguins the next. No place will make you feel as insignificant with in the framework of our Earth as does Antarctica, stand in front of one of it's mighty glaciers and feel like an ant, admire the icebergs, some the size of cities, each one different to the next. Beware though, there is a price to be paid - crossing the Drake Passage is a price all travelers to the Antarctic must pay. Trust me when I tell you the sea sickness is worth it.
